This summer’s practice challenge is here! “Piano Parks” is inspired by the National Parks. Students who complete the whole booklet’s challenges will receive a prize at the end of the summer! 🏞️☀️

Spring Recital 2026! I look at all of these sweet faces, and can’t help but think of how blessed I am. I am so proud of the confidence and musicality with which these students played yesterday. Special congrats to the 5 students who earned their Federation gold cups this year! 🏆

Congratulations to Lanna and Ava on earning Highest Honors at NCMTA Performance Festival! 🥳

On Saturday, 18 of my students played in NC Federation District Piano Festival. I could not be more proud of them! Four earned their gold cups this year with their 3rd consecutive Superior ratings. Way to go, everybody!

Meet Kayla Jenkins, NCMTA’s Vice President, Membership!

“I am deeply honored to be serving as an NCMTA Executive Officer for the next couple of years. This organization is filled with incredibly special people, including my own former teachers. How special it is to be carrying on the tradition of our profession! NCMTA has something for the veteran teacher, the young professional, and everyone in between. I love that we are constantly inspiring each other to be better musicians, teachers, and human beings. Thank you for this opportunity!”

Fun fact: Both of Kayla’s parents are also musicians! Her mother is a church pianist and her father plays bluegrass. 🎶
