Allow your child to make mistakes. We all make them. But make them take responsibility for their actions. “I’m really sorry, this is such a bummer, but sometimes we mess up because we can’t be perfect all the time. Let’s think about what you can do about it”

Model self-control by thinking out loud. That way your children can hear the thought process behind making the “right” decision.

It’s hard to have your kid be MAD at you! However, it is actually LOVING them by holding them accountable. Always start these tough conversations by saying: “What do you think about what happened?”

Some of my favorite way to keep kids active are jump ropes, pogo sticks, unicycles. Old fashioned but fun!
