The phrase of the week : "How are you?"
In French, there are several way to ask this simple question depending on who you're talking to.
To someone you don't know, just met once or twice, or a stranger interlocutor, you would use the formal way :
"Comment allez-vous?" Ko-m-an ah-lay voo ?
To family and friends you would use the informal way and say : "Comment vas-tu?" Ko-m-an vah tu For u say ee, than round your lips
It is very common for French people to say :
"Ça va?" Sah vah in place of "comment vas-tu?"
