Last night Edgar Sensei was a guest instructor at One Dojo in Boulder while more fun and great training was had back home. Thank you to Izawa Sensei and Villacorta Sensei for inviting us up. It was great to see everyone!

Denver Aikikai extends heartfelt congratulations to our dear friend and supporter, Eugene Lee Sensei, who was awarded the prestigious title of Shihan this week by the Aikikai Hombu Dojo in Tokyo.
The word Shihan is composed of two kanji:
師 (shi) — teacher, master, expert
範 (han) — model, example, standard
Together, it reflects not only a high level of technical mastery, but recognition as an exemplary teacher and role model - someone who embodies the principles of aikido both on and off the mat.
Eugene Sensei is just that kind of exemplary leader: extremely skilled, yet always humble and kind, with a sparkle in his eye ✨. We are very fortunate to have him as part of our dojo community.
Congratulations, Eugene Sensei, on this well-deserved honor!
