DID YOU KNOW: Our Summer Training Intensives are returning this year, with options for both high schoolers and adults!

By studying the works of landmark playwrights such as Anton Chekhov, Tennessee Williams, and William Shakespeare, actors will learn to look beyond the words and find the deeper meaning in some of the most important plays ever written. Actors will also be exposed to The Five Questions, an acting technique taught at the Yale School of Drama that also serves as the foundation of Visionbox's training.

In addition to our scene study classes, we will also be hosting an audition intensive, where actors can rehearse material and then put it on film with Videographer Scott Colby! This is a great opportunity for high schoolers applying to college theatre programs, or for working actors who would like some new material.

Whatever your goal is, Visionbox can help you achieve it this Summer. Visit www.visionbox.org to learn more!

We are so excited to collaborate with Ryan Canaday and Free recovery community! Ryan’s mission to break the silence of addiction aligns with everything this project means to Visionbox and why we created this constantly evolving work. Live theatre has always been one of the most powerful ways to explore the universal truths of the human condition. And today we need it more than ever. To find connection to each other and to ourselves. Addiction is a disease very misunderstood and it is epidemic today. We need to remove the social stigma and shame that only keeps addicts from finding healing and hope. Come see this unique and powerful collaboration between Visionbox and FREE this Sunday and Monday at 7 pm! Tickets at Visionbox.org

Thank you Ryan and Karie and FREE recovery community for giving us a voice. And a way to share our stories to create healing and hope.

THIS SATURDAY 5pm & 7pm
“LIVING THE QUESTIONS”

Karie and I will be taking questions that you’ve dropped in the box or emailed in. We haven’t seen them and won’t see them until we’re live, because this isn’t about having perfect answers—it’s about modeling what it looks like to truly engage deep and sometimes challenging questions….questions about God, faith, spirituality, recovery, and our personal journeys.

Then Jennifer McCray Rincon will join us as our Guest Storyteller. Jennifer is an artist, playwright, and woman in recovery whose story is marked by profound loss, resilience, and hope. After losing her mother to alcoholism in 2010, Jennifer began her own recovery journey while launching Visionbox Studio, a Denver nonprofit dedicated to healing through the arts. Following the tragic loss of her daughter and son-in-law in 2024, Jennifer continues to use her story & creative work to break the silence of addiction.

“American Addict”, written & directed by Jennifer, will be performed at FREE this Sunday & Monday.

Can’t wait to see you Saturday! Love y’all.

Grace & Peace,
ryan

My mom and me. Joyce Gevirtz McCray. She gave me so much my amazing education my love of learning my calling in theatre and a passion for helping others. She passed away way too young on Nov 1 2010 and visionbox was founded one month later. We became a non profit Dec 1 2010. Our current production American Addict playing may 17 and 18 is dedicated to you mom. You gave me your strength and compassion and allowed me to follow my dream and heart. Happy Mother’s Day to all moms out there. You made me a good mom the greatest gift of all.
