Hey Design students. Looking for an upper-division elective? Want something fun and meaningful to your career? Want to knock it off in just three weeks?
Have a look at FINE 3815: Storyboarding for Cinema and Games. If you understand visual storytelling, those skills can apply to all types of medium from films, to video games, to comics, and on the list goes. Many artists go back and forth between mediums and each has their unique challenges.
This is a valuable asset to staying employed and creating your own content if you are freelancing or find yourself between jobs.
A maymester course (3 weeks, Mon. thru Thur. 11-3:00, May 14-31) which delves into the foundations of storyboarding and storyboard animatic creation. Storyboarding is a valuable, important and necessary tool used not just in filmmaking and game development but in mapping out experiences in museums and retail, UX/UI design, website design and more. Learn the foundational skills to creating these meaningful tools for communications concepts and visual storytelling.

Have a look at FINE 3814 EO1: Motion Design for animators. This online summer class will inform, improve skills and set you up for motion design gigs in this hot market. Title design, explainers, Kinetic typography and more. We will work in After Effects, Photoshop and Premier learning lens language, composition, tracking, 3D cameras... a new set of tools to complement your existing skills as an animator, designer or filmmaker.

Could not agree more with Paula Scher. Creative freedom is a given when doing pro bono or even below market rate jobs. And, they should be used to build a portfolio, not as a favor.
