This week's is Frankie Kerkhof, a recent graduate of the master's program at the . For Kerkhof, pursuing a graduate degree at DU was about more than conducting research; it's about finding a community and a voice.

Kerkhof’s advice to prospective students is simple: get to know the people around you. "The program expects a lot of you, and there's a lot of work to do. The people in your program understand what you're going through, and they can become some of your closest friends," Kerkhof said.
