Society of Certified Senior Advisors Welcome to the Society of Certified Senior Advisors (SCSA) page. www.csa.us

A Certified Senior Advisor (CSA)® is a professional who has knowledge about aging and the important health, social and financial issues that affect the majority of seniors. Typically, CSAs already have expertise in a professional discipline - home care, senior housing, law, real estate, health care, insurance services, and financial planning - and have chosen to supplement that existing profession

al knowledge with the CSA education. While many are licensed in their professional discipline, it is only after they meet all the eligibility requirements that they may use the designation of Certified Senior Advisors. All candidates must meet eligibility requirements established by the SCSA Certification Council, an independent body that oversees the development and administration of the CSA exam and designation program. These requirements include:

- Education about senior issues and/or experience working with seniors
- Pass a criminal background check
- Pass the designation exam
- Pass the CSA Code of Professional Responsibility exam

To continue using the CSA credential, CSA are required to fulfill requirements for continuing education, disclose any new legal or regulatory issues and reaffirm their pledge to uphold the CSA Code of Professional Responsibility.

🎉 Celebrating Excellence in Service to Seniors! 🎉
We’re proud to congratulate Kayla Baham, our 2026 Service to Seniors Award winner, along with this year’s outstanding finalists, Lori Martin Williams and Laurie Fox! This award is a national honor recognizing a CSA who demonstrates an exceptional commitment to serving older adults and making a meaningful difference in their community.

Kayla Baham was recognized for her service and involvement with the Alzheimer’s Association®, Calcasieu Council On Aging, Elderly Protective Services, and the Better Business Bureau.

Lori Williams was honored for her work with Emelita’s Closet, and Laurie Fox for her involvement with Breakfast Club.

The recipients were announced at last week’s CSA Conference, where we had the opportunity to celebrate their commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults and their communities.
Laurie was unable to join us in person, so Bob Roth, who nominated her, proudly accepted her certificate on stage on her behalf.

Please join us in congratulating Kayla, Lori, and Laurie—and in thanking them for exemplifying what service to seniors is all about! 💙

Shelli Johnson 's Trailhead Keynote, Breathtaking: A Field Guide to Living Your Epic Life, clearly struck a chord with our attendees at the annual CSA Conference. We have received significant and enthusiastic feedback about it, and conversations about it have continued long after her keynote ended!

Thank you, Shelli, for an inspiring and memorable start to the day—and for reminding us to live and lead with courage, intention, joy, and connection.

Want to keep the inspiration going? Check out Shelli’s book, Breathtaking: A Field Guide to Living Your Epic Life.
