Performance in any sport is determined by a combination of 3 main elements: physical conditioning for competition, skill level, and mindset readiness to compete. Athletes spend countless hours improving their physical conditioning and skill level for competition, but most athletes do not dedicate enough time to developing their mental skills. By strengthening their mental skills, athletes enable themselves to prepare for the unpredictable and to overcome obstacles thrown their way during competition. At Athletic Mindset Evolution, my focus is on training the mind in order to help athletes develop the mental skills that will lead to achieving optimum performance. Finding the right mental training plan takes skill, creativity, practice, and imagination. As a mental skills coach, my job is to help each athlete discover which interventions help them achieve their desired mindset for optimal performance. Through a series of deliberate one on one or group sessions, I will partner with athletes to help identify which mental skills they need in order to achieve peak performance. I will attend practices and competitions in order to observe the athlete in multiple settings, to assist in identifying additional roadblocks and obstacles, and to provide in-the-moment coaching when necessary. Through communication, trust, and dedication, I will work together with the athlete and coaches to build the mental skills necessary to identify and breakthrough mental ceilings for performance. By engaging in one-on-one sessions, team sessions, or workshops, an athlete can work towards developing any of the following mental skills:
Self-confidence/Productive self-talk
Being prepared for the unpredictable
Coping with anxiety (nerves)
Performing under pressure
Self-awareness
Goal setting
Imagery
Team cohesion
Communication
Mindset
Attention control
Keeping the mind in the moment
High-performance thoughts (thought performance connection)
