International School of Denver

A multilingual, multicultural school in the heart of Denver. We celebrate our differences each and every day.

The International School of Denver is a vibrant, friendly, and down-to-earth learning community that comes from around the globe. Our private school in Denver offers a unique learning opportunity for the right student who wishes to gain internationalism through language and embrace a truly global culture. Students hearing four different languages at every turn learn empathy and understanding, the true gift that our school offers.

Last day of trip to Idaho Springs for our sixth graders!!

To bookend the year, G6 starts and ends their experience with trips exploring the Rocky Mountains.

On this first trip of the school year, the goal is to come together as a class and build strong bonds that last even beyond graduation day.

We can see in the photos that it was all about friendship, fun, adventures, yoga, books, amazing views and of course, a lot of luggage.

Happy Friday!

Our first graders are interviewing Drew Jeffries, our Director of Finances for their first PYP unit - How we organize ourselves.

They talked about roles and responsibilities to understand how our school community works.

Great job kids and teachers!

Who doesn't like a bubble party🫧?

Our teachers prepared a surprise for the students at drop off today.
We saw some tears, what is normal, and they were happy, very happy soon after.

And we found the Dragon eggs!!!!

Today we had the Lower Primary and Middle School ceremonies for the Dragons Houses.

They are designed to foster the spirit of pride, loyalty, and character. To promote a sense of belonging, friendly competition, and teamwork. The International School of Denver is made up of four Dragon Houses: Zu, Wyvern, Shenlong and Typhon.

As a result, members of the same house work together to earn points, compete in friendly challenges, and support each other in various activities.

One of the ways that the Middle Schoolers can earn points is engaging in community service, like cleaning the surroundings of the school and learning how their actions can positively impact their community.

Go Dragons!

Today was our Cérémonie d'Ouverture!
We were honored to welcome numerous families who joined us to celebrate the new school year.

One of the highlights of the ceremony was Bryan Wabo's speech, 8th grade recipient of the Head of School Award this year.

We know that the energy we felt today, will set a positive tone for the academic year ahead filled with growth, learning, and success.

Go Dragons!

We can't wait to share another school year with our amazing community.

Alumni Spotlight!
Allie and Ava attended ISDenver for Middle School before being accepted into their first-choice high school. Every year, approximately one third of our incoming sixth graders are new to ISDenver.
The two recently visited ISDenver and took the time to share their experiences with us.

Our incredible dragon, Juan Gomez, a seventh-grader, traveled to the Dominican Republic to participate in the Latin American Baseball Classic (LABC) as a representative of the USA.

The LABC is a tournament held in Santo Domingo. There's a selection process in different parts of the USA, and Juan was chosen to play in the 12U age group. They made it to the playoffs and finished in 4th place.

For us, Juan Gomez is 🥇! Congratulations!!

The crew is back!

A huge welcome to all our teachers and staff!
They are working at making sure the year gets off to a good start in their classrooms, and participating in professional development for licensing and student safety, DEIB, academic topics, and procedural updates.

We are almost there, excited to see the kids coming back to our Cérémonie d'Ouverture!

Staff buddy program working in full!

The teachers Grant Bearfield and Javier San José, as great ISDenver buddies, gave Bernardo Saltos and Gaspar Sahuquillo a nice welcome at our school.

They attended a Rapids game vs a Liga MX team Juarez FC as part of the League Cup.

The Rapids won 3-2 and moved on to the round of 16.

Good job having fun team!

The photo is a great example of our students applying what they learn throughout the year.

Our middle schoolers showed up at school to help teachers to set up their classrooms.

These small acts of kindness to the ones to help build their minds, are part of the real-world experiences, giving them courage and character to be changemakers.

Thank you Dragons! 🐉

We are thrilled to announce that our new teachers are here!

Last Friday was the last day of Summer Programs 2024, but what most do not know is that among our camp counselors, every year, we have many former students on the summer team.

One of them is the amazing Solene, whom we had the pleasure of having around for the second Summer. We found her cute picture in the 2008/2009 yearbooks when she attended preschool at the French Program. So cute 🥰

It is lovely to have her around again, and proof that we did a good job creating memories and giving all of them a safe place and fun environment that makes them want to come back!

Do you have your ISDenver yearbook memories? Please share with us in the messages.

Our little dragons are having fun with Sparky all around the world!

We are planning a Dragons in the Wild photo exhibit for the Dragon’s Den and need your photos!

Travel anywhere exciting over the summer? We've got multiple Dragons at the Olympics right now!

Check out something fun locally?

Post your photos and tag or email photos of your ISDenver Dragons to Janet Yenter, Director of Community Engagement, before the summer ends!

Today is the day to remember the Primary Dragon Games.
Like in Paris 2024, the soccer field was full of colors and fun. Our students/athletes have given everything they can. Or using the expression in French, "Mouiller le maillot" (literal translation: to wet your jersey).
🐉Go Dragons!

Inspired by the good energy from the union of the five continents at the Olympic Games Paris 2024, this week, we will remember our Dragon Games!

Starting with the Middle School Dragon Games, the four teams follow the same organization as the four dragon houses — the houses of Shenlong, Typhon, Zu, and Wyverns. The system creates the sense of a team across linguistic and age-group boundaries. The goal is to build community in Grades 6-8 through house challenges and acts of service, and they nailed it!

We are proud of every achievement during Summer Programs. The campers learn many different skills while having fun, including Macrame. And guess what?
They asked to be a regular after school club.
Good job, girls!

Congratulations, Tate, ISDenver Class of 2024.

His family reflects, "Tate it has been a joy to watch you grow from a shy and caring pre-K toddler to an amazing young man who is a devoted friend and son, with wicked wit and empathy beyond your years. You have blossomed over middle school, finding your place in the school community and the world around you. We love your observations and how you reason (argue) your perspective. We look forward to the next 4 years at Regis to see how you continue to grow into a young man poised to help make the world better."

We couldn't have said it better ourselves!
