Application open for the Healthcare Interest Program at Denver Health Hospital

The Healthcare Interest Program (HIP) is a Denver Health pathway program that works to increase the success of college students seeking careers in healthcare.
HIP supports the academic and professional development needs of its students through a combined approach that includes mentorship experiences, lectures, and workshops.

The HIP Experience:
👥Complete 50+ hours of shadowing with a Denver Health provider in your field of interest
📆Attend Friday seminars with fellow health professions students
🗣Network with healthcare providers across the Denver Health system
🏨Gain an understanding of the healthcare needs of diverse populations
💪Develop key professional skillsets to prepare for the next steps in your career journey

❗Requirements
⭐Be currently enrolled in a pre-health or health sciences academic program
⭐Rising Sophomore, Junior or Senior. (completed 30+ credits)
⭐Meet a minimum GPA of 2.8
⭐Have ability to enroll in 1 credit course for BOTH the fall 2026 and spring 20267 semesters
⭐Remain in good academic standing for the entire program year
⭐Have availability in academic schedules to attend HIP seminars on Friday afternoons on the Denver Health campus Downtown
⭐Have reliable transportation to commute to the main Denver Health campus and/or possible community locations for mentoring

📣West Classroom Building Closures & Impacts📣

Roadrunner! From January 15, 2026 until the completion of construction on the Gina and Frank Day Health Institute Tower (estimated summer of 2027), there will be impacts to the West Classroom and the surrounding construction areas.

During this time the only stairs in the West Classroom will be closed. 🚷

Stair and elevators located in the Arts Building and Central Classroom Building can be used to access the second floor of West Classroom.

Big shout out to a few of our Health Scholars and Peer Health Education Health Facilitators who hosted a booth at New Legacy Charter Schools Health and Wellness Fair on November 24th📣❤.
New Legacy is a local High School in Aurora that supports the education and needs of parenting teens. Out booth theme was connection; meeting students where they are to build skills around education, career and professional development. This included how to dress for an interview, what questions to ask during an interview, designing life goals, and understanding resources for networking and building community.
