Couldn't resist posting this picture of Metropolitan State University of Denver student Larryss Rodriguez. She's a junior studying sports journalism and media production. Also, thanks to the Irv Brown Endowment Fund's mentor program, taking advantage of the resources provided.

The fund, honored to be its chair, will extend initial scholarships this fall In honor of the Colorado sports legend. A mentor to many, including your scribe during days past. Helping kiddos chase educational dreams on the business side of sports in Irv's honor?

The first baseball coach at MSU Denver and athletic Hall of Fame member? Seeing these kiddos like Larryss in these experimental learning environments while helping things run smoothly on the broadcast side of last night's incredible Nuggets win?

I believe Irv's up there smiling broadly. Probably as much as the dude writing this! Larryss, keep chasing dreams. The IBEF has your back!

Weekly time to let the ol' sports journalist come out and play thanks to Sports Illustrated. CU basketball this season? Women and Men? What a great ride with the women looking for more!

JR Payne’s team advanced to the Sweet 16. Tad Boyle’s band of Buffs fell just short in a gutty performance against Marquette, the South Region’s #2 seed. A victory would have been a first Sweet 16 for both in the same season in Colorado basketball history

efforts at lessening America's kidney disease crisis, A Stronger Cord's work with displaced men and the Irv Brown Endowment Fund's passion for offering scholarships to low-income kids to attend Metropolitan State University of Denverand study the business side of sports.
