Instructor Spotlight: Meet Emma
What started as a daily exercise routine while working from home quickly turned into a serious love for VersaClimber: #1 Vertical Climber. She’s passionate about getting stronger, building stamina, and making fitness fun for climbers of all levels.
❤️🔥How long have you been at TWST, and what’s your favorite part about coaching here?
I’ve been going to TWST since November 2021, and I started coaching Versaclimber in late 2023. My favorite part about coaching is the community of awesome clients. I get tingles watching people support each other while simultaneously pushing themselves to their own personal limits of badassery.
❤️🔥What’s a fun fact about you that might surprise us?
I have been to 50+ countries. I used to be a professional cook. I have saved someone’s life twice (different people). My high school crush was David Duchovny (does anyone remember that Bree Sharp song?) and my childhood bathroom still has pictures of him behind the trifold mirror.
❤️🔥What’s one piece of advice you’d give someone taking their first VERSACLIMBER class?
Measure yourself against how many feet you climbed yesterday (zero!), not by how many feet the person in front of you has climbed. We all have our own trajectories in fitness and everyone was a beginner at some point. Take pride in trying something new and hard, and please come back at least three more times to see how quickly things change.
❤️🔥What’s your biggest coaching pet peeve? 😂
When someone has signed up for their first class and doesn’t arrive early enough for me to show them the studio and the machine set up. I don’t like to start class late, but I also don’t want a newbie to feel totally lost.
❤️🔥Describe your coaching playlist in 3 words.
Bouncy international pop
❤️🔥What’s your favorite way to recharge outside of the studio?
Zzzzzzz 😴😂😴😂
Come climb with Emma every Tuesday at 9:30am at Central Park location.
