Incorporating travel into learning is one of the most natural ways to explore:

It’s hands-on, meaningful… and so much fun!!!!

This week in our gentle preschool… we’re exploring SPACE 🚀💛

And it couldn’t be more perfect timing with the excitement around the Artemis program NASA launch!

Today’s activity was simple:
shapes → turned into a rocket ship

But she made it her own.

She added:
☀️ the sun
🛰️ ground control
⭐️ all the letters we’ve already learned

She was SO proud!

And that’s what I always come back to: when learning feels like play, kids take ownership, and that’s when it really sticks. 💛

The simplest activities are always the biggest hit!

Spray bottle + foam shapes + a glass door =
pattern play, fine motor practice, and so much joy

And when she was done?
We took it outside and cleaned everything in sight 😅

One of my favorite ways to teach letters? Making it a game! 🐣

Today we did a simple egg hunt:

• lowercase letters inside eggs
• uppercase letters on a poster
• match them together

This builds letter recognition in a hands-on, engaging way. Something about egg hunts that just captures kids' attention!

Want to take it further?
Have your child say the letter sound as they match.

Learning sticks when it feels like play!! 💛

Sometimes the best thing you can do for learning…is just step outside.☀️

I’ll say it…

Alphabet toys, books, and posters drive me a little crazy sometimes!😅

If we’re teaching letter sounds, then the picture needs to MATCH the sound.

🐑 Sheep is not /s/ (it’s /sh/)
🍊 Orange is not /o/ (it’s /or/)

These things matter when little kids are learning to read.

Clear, consistent sound-symbol connections make it so much easier for kids to build confidence.

That’s why everything I create uses the most common sound for each letter.

Because learning to read shouldn’t be confusing from the start. 💛

I don’t believe preschool should feel stressful.

It should feel warm. Playful. Doable. 💜

That’s exactly why I created my gentle preschool curriculum, for moms who want structure without pressure!

Behind every homeschool day is…

Today we called our own snow day ❄️

Watching Bluey, snuggled on the couch, wearing princess dresses, while the snow falls outside.

And honestly… this might be the best kind of learning day. 💛

I created the preschool curriculum I couldn't find for toddlers and preschoolers.

Simple.
Gentle.
Play-based.

Choose 1–2 activities a day. Follow your child’s lead.

It doesn’t have to be overwhelming to be effective.
