Learning about Black history can positively impact youth violence and mental health by offering a sense of identity, fostering resilience, and celebrating cultural achievements. Understanding the struggles and triumphs of Black historical figures provides young people with role models who overcame adversity, instilling hope and determination. Black History Month highlights the contributions and experiences of Black Americans, combatting negative stereotypes and promoting cross-cultural understanding. This knowledge can reduce feelings of isolation, boost self-esteem, and equip young people to challenge systemic injustices that contribute to violence and mental health challenges
