How many repetitions are needed for most kids?
1-4 repetitions for gifted learners

As the school year begins, many parents of dyslexic learners may ask how they can assist their child at home.
I’m a big proponent of creating a team of support for our learners. ✨
These are some tips that I share with parents - and as educators, we can continue to support our students by suggesting these strategies be put in place at home as well as school.
7 Tips for Parents to Help Children at Home⬇️
1️⃣Use time wisely - help determine the time needed for a task + make a plan
2️⃣Ask for assignments ahead of time - especially helpful for students who need additional time
3️⃣break assignments into smaller pieces
4️⃣Use simple tools to aid your work
5️⃣Use technology to your advantage
6️⃣Read assignments and directions to your child
7️⃣Give your child permission to step away for a moment

I created this list of instructional practices to avoid for a state document. It was left on the cutting room floor. The list may have seemed too inflammatory and I know they received push-back from advocates of three cueing.
But I think this level of detail could help administrators and review teams avoid purchasing programs that are balanced literacy in SoR clothing. What do you think? What would you add to this list?
