I was the oldest of 5, both parents were alcoholics, and we had very little money.

So I absolutely grew up “having people I didn’t want to be like and seeing situations I’d never want to be in.”

I also had a couple of amazing role models, my grandfather and my 9th grade math teacher, but most of my childhood I would say to myself,
“This is not going to be my life. I am not going to be like that person.”

So beloveds, I am a living testimony that we are not what happened to us, we are not victims even if we have been victimized, and we CAN be anything we want to be with deep desire, strong conviction, and an “I will never give up on mySELF attitude.

If I can do it, you can do it loves. 🖤

If trashing talking yourself worked, you would already have everything you’ve been working towards.

But it’s not.

It’s time you became your own biggest supporter.

Because I can cheer you on and support you all day long, but it will never be enough if YOU aren’t treating yourself with the same love and support.

You deserve it. You need it. ❤️

Instead of fighting the energy of this recurring pattern, meet it, relax into it, and redirect it.

It's important to remember that this pattern was put in place by a younger part of you, often MUCH younger, that was trying to HELP. 

It has a positive intention; that positive intention is just no longer relevant to the context.

Instead of getting mad at the pattern, start by appreciating it. You can even visualize the pattern as a younger version of yourself. See that it's doing it's best to protect you, to make you feel better. And then have a conversation from the newer, more resourced part of you, asking how you can all work together in service of the new goal: Who you're trying to become.

This is how you create a collaborative relationship with the many dimensions of your humanness.
