Empathy is a gateway to compassion.
It is understanding how someone feels, and trying to imagine how that might feel for you — it’s a way of connecting and relating.
It’s imagining what others are feeling, holding it in, accepting it, and taking some kind of action to help.
And the action that we take that comes from our Empathy is transformed into Compassion.
In simple terms, Compassion is Empathy in Action!
And your actions don’t have to be big or life-changing.
It could be something as small as offering a helping hand, being a shoulder to lean on or lending an ear to simply listen. It’s being selfless, instead of selfish.
Compassion is realizing that we all ultimately want the same things out of life (love, safety, health, happiness) and we act out that compassion by responding in an empathetic way. It’s realizing that compassion has no boundaries and is inclusive to our planet, nature, animals and creatures alike. This is true Empathy, this is compassion in its greatest form.
With a little practice, we can all become more compassionate toward ourselves and others.
By teaching our children the importance of being Compassionate towards others, we are giving them the greatest gift of their lives.

Teaching children compassion is a vital part of their childhood learning journey and a skill that will help them throughout their life.
As part of a broader skill set, compassion will also help them think creatively in situations, make decisions that inspire their personal journey, and pursue
life with purpose.
Our mission at Compassion Rising is to provide parents and their children with childcare programs and a trusted space to develop their emotional intelligence, strengthen their sense of compassion and empathy, and deepen their connection with themselves, all living beings, and this planet we call home.
A place where children are taught the beauty of their very creation and how to transcend that beauty into an Awakening world.

Teaching our children to empathize with the feelings, needs and concerns of others will help them pursue their goals in a compassionate way, helping them rely on their synergy with others in order to grow together while interacting with kindness and respect.
This will enable them to build and sustain positive relationships, which translates into strong bonds and long lasting friendships. Children can depend on those bonds as they journey through the challenges and achievements in their lives and can celebrate their wins with those that they trust when they reach their goals.
At Compassion Rising, our mission is to provide families as well as Childcare and Preschool Programs with a trusted space to develop their emotional intelligence, strengthen their sense of compassion and empathy, and deepen their connection with themselves, all living beings, and this planet we call home.

Meet Tricia Shields, the founder of Compassion Rising.
She is a proud Mama of 2 compassionate children, a Loving wife, an avid Animal Rights Activist , a certified plant based Ambassador, an Entrepreneur and an Author. She has been the Business Owner of a licensed Vegan Childcare program in Colorado for the past 3 years.
It was a deep Awakening that sparked Tricia’s vision for a world where families and childcare programs were given a space to come together to nurture the innate seed of compassion she saw within each and every child.
As a mother herself, she had the realization that not only do we live in a world full of suffering but that children are not being taught the essential fundamental values of life such as self-awareness, mindfulness, empathy and compassion towards all living Beings.
She identified with other families that were experiencing similar challenges which included:
- Feeling concerned about what kind of world they are living in today and how they would raise their children consciously with this sense of hopelessness.
- Feeling isolated and alone while trying to strengthen and maintain values of love and compassion within their children.
- Feeling let down by the schooling systems and government funded curriculums that forgo teachings about emotional intelligence, self-awareness and empathy.
If this sounds familiar to you, then we want you to know that YOU ARE NOT ALONE!
Our Conscious, one of a kind, compassion-based program and team of compassion experts will offer insight and a network of support on your journey of raising future generations that are at the core of a thriving tomorrow.

Our world needs compassion now more than ever before.
And we truly believe that our children can make the world a better place.
We know that their love for themselves, others, animals, and the planet is at the core of their instinctual creation.
But, we also understand that strengthening and maintaining those values as they grow older can be challenging. Especially in a world full of suffering and negativity.
Our mission at Compassion Rising is to provide families as well as Childcare and Preschool programs with a trusted space to develop their emotional intelligence, strengthen their sense of compassion and empathy, and deepen their connection with themselves, all living beings, and this planet we call home.
A place where children are taught the beauty of who they are and how to transcend that beauty into an Awakened world.

Did you know a research has shown that emotional intelligence or EQ predicts over 54% of the variation in success (relationships, effectiveness, health, quality of life) and that young children with high EQ generally earn higher grades, stay in school longer, and make healthier choices.
The importance of developing emotional intelligence in ourselves and in our children cannot be over-emphasised in today’s fast-paced and complex world.
When we teach children emotional intelligence – how to recognize their feelings, to understand where these feelings come from and to learn how to deal with them, we are teaching them some of the most essential skills for success in life!
As parents of our children, when we struggle to have a consistently healthy way of handling emotions ourselves, we are of course, less effective in teaching our kids to handle theirs. This is why the change needs to first start with us – and it is never too late!

Emotional intelligence has been, for some time now, a buzzword among education circles, and with good reason.
Right alongside IQ (Intelligence Quotient), EQ (Emotional Quotient) ranks right up there in every educator’s endeavor to create well-rounded, accomplished individuals.
EQ is defined as the ability to identify, use, understand and manage emotions in a healthy and effective fashion.
This ability helps students empathise with others and themselves, and deal with difficult situations without getting frazzled.
It affects relationships, academic performance and even the way students handle pressure.
This is a feature of growth that becomes ever more difficult in a world where all our attention is focused on academic excellence.
More and more research these days talk about how emotions affect learning. In fact, a research conducted around medical students in Iran found that students with a higher emotional intelligence showed better academic performance.
