Taboo!: The Hidden Culture of a Red Light Area by Dr. Fouzia Saeed is an in-depth exploration of Pakistan’s Heera Mandi, Lahore's historic red-light district. Drawing from her years of research and personal encounters, Dr. Fouzia Saeed sheds light on the lives of women working as dancers and s*x workers, as well as the complex socio-cultural dynamics that both enable and constrain them.
The book goes beyond stereotypes, presenting the individuals within Heera Mandi as multifaceted people mothers, daughters, and artists caught in a web of societal judgment, tradition, and economic hardship.
Dr. Fouzia Saeed highlights the struggles, resilience, and aspirations of these women, offering readers an intimate perspective into a world shrouded in mystery and often stigmatized by society.
Through rich storytelling, Taboo! confronts social hypocrisy and challenges readers to question their own perceptions of morality, honor, and agency. It is both a critique of societal norms and an empathetic portrayal of individuals striving to reclaim dignity in a life often fraught with harsh realities.

Short Story: The War
In the rubble of a shattered village, a tiny hand reached out from a crack in a crumbling wall. Behind it, wide, terrified eyes peered into the cold, empty world outside a world that had once held laughter, warmth, and family, all now buried beneath the ruins of war.
A passing soldier, numb to the horrors he’d seen, froze at the sight. Kneeling, he gently took the small hand in his own, feeling its frail warmth. For a moment, he saw all that had been lost the innocence stolen, the life interrupted.
With tears he’d forgotten he could shed, he whispered, “You’re not alone.”

Some stories aren’t just told they're felt. My upcoming book, The Corporate Diary, is a raw reflection of the highs that lifted me and the lows that broke me. Sometimes, the journey doesn’t end the way you imagined. Coming soon…

The Corporate Diary should be read because it offers a raw, unfiltered look into the emotional rollercoaster of life, specifically in the corporate world. It’s not just about success or ambition, but the pain, setbacks, and personal struggles that are often hidden behind professional achievements. Readers will connect with the human aspect of failure something we all experience but rarely talk about.

Today, I received an update on my application for The Association of Commonwealth Universities at the University of Pretoria. While I wasn’t selected this time, I’m proud of the effort I put into the process.
Every setback is a lesson, and I remain hopeful for future opportunities. To all my friends and colleagues who have supported me, thank you for your constant encouragement.
This is just one chapter, and the journey continues!

I’ve been trying relentlessly for the past year to secure a Master’s in Computer Science (research-based) at a reputable university, preferably abroad. But all I've faced are rejections. It hurts deeply. After all, who enjoys failure and rejection?
But wait… if you think rejection is painful, there’s something worse.
After countless struggles, I finally secured a position at GIKI for a Master’s in Computer Science under the Day Scholar program. It’s undoubtedly a significant achievement and a remarkable opportunity.
Yet, this opportunity is causing me more pain than rejection ever did. I’m stuck, torn between pursuing this path or letting it go.
It’s a dreadful place to be—unable to move forward, yet unable to turn back.
To the person who will eventually take my place, congratulations.
I don’t know who you are, but I sincerely hope you make the most of this opportunity. I wish you nothing but success.
Yours truly,

Sometimes, opportunities slip through our fingers, and we realize the impact of timing and responsibility.
I recently missed the deadline for an application to a university in Austria (Love Austria), partly due to my oversight and a delayed reference.
While it's a tough lesson, I'm choosing to learn from this experience and move forward. Onward and upward!"
I want to be independent of Pakistani Professors, ASAP.

Dear IZHAR,
It's not that I haven't tried, and it's not like I haven't tried to learn from my mistakes.
I've also focused on improvement, but unfortunately, I keep facing the same rejection over and over again.
It's hurting me and breaking my heart . . .

Dear Izhar,
Please stop. You are not even eligible to compete in the international race.
Give up and come back; don’t waste your energy, money, resources, and time.
Izhar,
I feel the same way, but what can I do? There are people in my village waiting for my success . . .
How can I tell them that I am tired of failing over and over again?
