What is your deepest fear really?

Many of you have likely heard the phrase “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate…it’s that we are powerful beyond measure”.

I was recently sitting in a class about entrepreneurship with guest speaker Michael Gervais, who is the sport & performance psychologist for the Seattle Seahawks. He said that what really gets in the way of people achieving greatness is not fear of success, but fear of failure.

I immediately started flashing back through my journey of entrepreneurship. Back through grad school. Back through anything meaningful I’ve worked hard towards that I initially resisted.

Is he right?

I can’t speak for everyone. But if I’m being honest with myself, I’m not scared of success. I’m scared of putting my energy into something that doesn’t deliver the results I want. I’m scared of wasting my time.

But isn’t it also a waste of my time to not TRY? To not exercise my creative gifts around something I’m passionate about?

Entrepreneurship isn’t easy. Coaching isn’t easy.

And YET, I’ve never been more confident about my purpose in this world. I’ve never felt so impactful.

I haven’t questioned if I’m “on the right path” in 4 years.

I'm no more innocent than the next. But I am ready for a shift. A shift into a world where people mean what they say, and say what they mean.

My vision for the future is a more consious one.
