We are deeply sorry for the loss of Eric Carle who recently left us at age of 91. We all know this amazing book illustrator and his well known book ′′ The Very Hungry Caterpillar". A book of only 224 words, first published in 1969 and sold over 55 million copies worldwide and has been translated into more than 70 languages.

E' stato incredibilmente emozionante 🤩 per noi, che oggi realizziamo questi materiali, toccare con mano un pezzo di storia. Nel museo, infatti, sono presenti alcuni dei primissimi materiali di sviluppo ideati da Maria Montessori, materiali che hanno più di 💯 anni di vita e che racchiudono nel loro colore e nel loro odore, non solo l'incredibile storia di questa donna, ma il suo geniale pensiero e la storia della nel mondo. 🌍

The Montessori concept places a large importance on feelings and emotions. It aims to teach children to understand and talk about their emotions, allowing them to develop emotional intelligence and become well-rounded adults.

Maria Montessori put huge emphasis on the importance of giving children respect, viewing them as “the greatest marvel of nature”. In respecting children, we should recognize and understand their needs, along with supporting them on their journey to understand their own emotions.

Montessori principles involve not seeking to resolve the situation by offering a solution, but instead offering compassion and empathy to allow the child to seek their own resolution.

In order to get children to enjoy gardening, a few considerations should be made when selecting plants. They should germinate quickly to keep those short attention spans occupied, produce a crop quickly and require minimum maintenance other than watering and feeding. There are many plants that are easy to grow. This time we picked the marigolds.

Child-led activities in Montessori classroom are referred to as "work". When parents tour our Montessori school they often ask about the difference between play and work. However, there is no difference. Play IS the work of the child. In Montessori we use the term ‘work’ in order to hold it in high regard and respect it as purposeful and meaningful.

As Montessorians we believe education is more than just academics. We aim to nurture not only the intellect, but the development of the whole child in an effort to prepare them for all aspects of life. Practical life in Montessori begins early and is intentionally woven into both toddler and primary classrooms, and beyond. The activities themselves are intended to give children practice so that they may work toward being independent in everyday living.
