Yesterday was the final day for the FFA portion of the livestock shows, minus goats that will be next week. Yesterday Maddie did really well in the purebred sheep show. She earned Grand AND Reserve Champion Southdown Ram! Congrats! They are both going to add value to Maddie’s sheep herd!

Rainy start to the Iowa State Fair today! Students we exhibiting in the Beef, Sheep, Swine, Ag building, and the FFA Building! Maddie and Jameson have been recognized with blue ribbons for their livestock! Nancy earned a blue for her photo of her zinnias! She also earned a reserve champion for her Gladiolus and for her Cockscomb! Enjoy the photos from today thanks to Pat M for the livestock photos!

The Sheep and Goat show was today at the Bremer County Fair! Denver FFA had an awesome representation by Maddie and Jameson Johnson. Many lavender and blue ribbons were won. Congrats to all for a wonderful show! That wraps up the livestock shows. Tomorrow, join Wyatt Kania during his working exhibit at 10:30 am. The students who showed livestock could also participate in the Ribbon Auction. The auction starts at 4 pm, and you can participate by bidding and awarding these students for their hard work raising livestock.

It is fair week! Come see our students exhibit projects that they have been working on, some for weeks and some all year. Check out this flyer that shows who and when they are showing!!! Also, students, if you need service hours, the Bremer County Pork Promoters could use help. This service comes with a free loin! That is one tasty way to serve!! If you want the sign-up sheet, let Mrs. VDW know!!!
