Our Story

The St. Paul Christian Learning Center was opened in 1977 as a service to the church and community offering quality day care, reasonable rates and flexible schedules. CLC provides a program that stimulates the physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual growth of the children under its direction. The Learning Center operates as a nonprofit corporation adjunct to the St. Paul Lutheran Church and University Center. It is governed by a Board of Directors, consisting of five members; four members from the congregation of St. Paul Lutheran Church and one parent of a currently enrolled CLC child. The CLC Board of Directors is responsible for setting new policies, approving policy changes, setting tuition rates, coordinating Center special events and approving the yearly budget.

St. Paul Christian Learning Center is a community of staff, parents, board and children working together in a Christ-centered environment. CLC provides opportunities for children to learn and grow in all areas; physically, mentally, socially, emotionally and spiritually through activities appropriate for two through five year olds and kindergarten through fifth grade afterschoolers. In the child care/preschool we use a curriculum that is designed to see God at work in each area that is studied. Knowing that young children reflect the learning and behaviors from both home and school CLC works with families to provide continuity in expectations for progress and growth in these areas.
