Shout out to our Teacher of the Week - Coach Caldwell! Here’s what Mrs. May has to share about her:

Brandi is our PE coach, but she is so much more than that. She has created such a fun, safe, and welcoming environment for our kids. Of course they are learning PE skills, but they are also learning how to be good sports, good teammates, kind to each other, and just good people.

She is also such a huge support to teachers. When students have a conflict in PE (as competitive situations sometimes bring about), Brandi takes the time to talk with the students, get to the bottom of what happened, and help them work through it. She is fair, she listens, and she takes things seriously when they need to be taken seriously. That support means a lot to both the students and the teachers who work with her.

Brandi is also taking on our WSR GOAL program, and I am so excited to see what she does with it. She understands that the program is about so much more than soccer. It is about leadership, teamwork, responsibility, and helping kids grow into strong young people. I know she will take it exactly where it is meant to go.

And honestly, Brandi is just one of those people everyone loves being around. She is kind, dependable, positive, and so funny. She can make kids and adults laugh, but she also knows when to be serious and when something needs her full attention.

Students love her. Teachers love her. Parents love her. She brings so much to WSR, and we are very lucky to have her.

Here’s what Ms. Onstead had to share about our “Teacher of the Week,” Mrs. May!!!

Monica is someone I look up to tremendously and feel so inspired by! She is extremely knowledgeable and quick to develop thoughtful plans and strategies that make learning more successful and meaningful for her students. Her depth of knowledge is evident in the way she approaches instruction, problem-solving, and student growth. She has an incredible understanding of both the instructional and personal needs of her students, and she consistently uses that knowledge to make learning intentional, purposeful, and accessible.

Beyond her instructional expertise, Monica has an inviting personality that makes everyone around her feel comfortable and connected. She has a natural ability to bring peace, perspective, and positivity into the classroom and our school. Monica has a special gift for creating an environment where people feel seen, valued, and cared for. She brings not only knowledge and expertise to education, but also warmth, joy, and a sense of community!

Monica creates and fosters genuine, personal relationships with each of her students. She truly knows her students, celebrates their successes, and makes each child feel valued and supported. She approaches everything with a smile, brings positivity into all situations, and creates a classroom environment that feels warm, welcoming, and safe. She doesn't just make her classroom a place for learning; she makes it feel like home.

Congratulations, Mrs. May! We are so glad you’re a Wrangler! 🤍

Our annual Multi-Cultural Night is coming to W. S. Ryan on Thursday, September 24th!

We are looking for families that want to walk alongside our staff to present information, provide food samples, or games that highlight your culture.

Ways to participate:
- Provide food samples of traditional foods. Each participating family will be a tri-fold presentation board to show off information about the country you represent, so as you share food, you can share information about your culture as well.
- Host a game or activity that is traditional to your culture or heritage. You can have a table with the space you need. We do ask you do a presentation board as well so you can share information while playing.
- Set up and take down. We need families who want to help us with decorating and cleaning up.

Use the QR code in the flier to submit your desire to participate. Here is a direct link to the form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSejo6iBPIV4cRbpwmTyDlQ1Ae3OswBTxn29Jua6unMLTCNc_g/viewform?usp=dialog

If you have any questions, please reach out to Shayla Kovarik ([email protected]).

We cannot wait for this night! It is one of our favorite's of the year.

A Title I parent information meeting will be in the library at 6:00.

Mrs. Conrad nominated Ms. Onstead as teacher of the week! Here’s what Mrs. Conrad had to say:

I am honored to nominate Emma Onstead for teacher of the week. Emma is an outstanding teacher who goes above and beyond for her students every single day. She shines with the confidence, dedication, and heart of someone who was truly born to be a teacher.

Emma is incredibly organized and knowledgeable about the curriculum. She puts great thought and intention into her instruction and always strives to ensure that her students are learning, growing, and feeling successful. She has a genuine love for her students, and that love is evident in the way she supports them, encourages them, and celebrates their successes.

Emma is also an incredible team player. She is always willing to lend a hand, share ideas, or help a teammate, and she does it all with a smile on her face. She brings a positive attitude and a willingness to learn that makes everyone around her better. She is the kind of teammate you can count on, no matter what.

What makes Emma especially deserving of this recognition is the passion she brings to teaching. She cares deeply about her students and wants the very best for each one of them. She goes beyond simply teaching the curriculum—she builds relationships, creates a positive classroom environment, and makes her students feel valued and cared for.

Emma may be new to the profession, but she has already made an incredible impact. She has a natural gift for teaching, a heart for children, and a dedication that is truly inspiring. She shines in everything she does, and it is clear that she was born to be a teacher. Emma is an exceptional educator, an amazing teammate, and someone who is going to make a lasting difference in the lives of her students for many years to come.
