Congratulations to Dr. Amy Ott, who defended her dissertation project yesterday, titled, "Turning towards the Sun: Reorienting the Writing Self through Embodied and Contemplative Practice in Corequisite First-Year Composition."

Her defense was a spectacular event -- full of brilliant insights, sweet treats, and even sweeter friends and family, some of whom traveled across the Atlantic to cheer her on.

Congratulations to Dr. Aida Mehanovic, who spent this morning defending her dissertation, “Finding an Audience: Sharing/Narrating First-Generation College Student Stories in Different Contexts”. Congratulations to Dr. Alicia Beretta, who successfully defended her dissertation last week: "Mapping the Praxis of Archival Research in the First-Year Writing Classroom: A Qualitative Study of Instructors' Archival Research Pedagogies.” She was joined at her defense by many friends and adoring family members. 🎉
