The Strength of Boundaries 🚧

The word boundary comes from the Latin bodina, meaning "limit" or "border," and evolved into English as boundarie, referring to a dividing line between two areas. At its core, a boundary marks the space between two things—what belongs to me and what does not.

Great leaders don’t just manage tasks—they protect what matters most. Boundaries aren’t about being selfish; they’re about being intentional. Without them, your time, energy, and priorities suffer.

Ask yourself today:
✅ Do I have clear boundaries for my time and well-being?
✅ Am I letting others’ urgency dictate my priorities?
✅ Do I have the strength to enforce my boundaries, even when it’s tough?

Weak boundaries lead to burnout. Strong boundaries create focus and impact. It’s time to draw the line where it needs to be. 💡

In 2020, Stacey and I decided to launch a podcast (The Arete Way)—and like many of you, we suddenly found ourselves with a bit of extra time! One of our favorite episodes was called "Conversational Stoppers", where we dove into 10 common communication habits that can unintentionally derail meaningful conversations. To make these conversational stoppers funny and memorable, we gave each "stopper" a humorous name—like The Piggy Backer, The Fire Hydrant, The Know-it-All, The Dark Cloud, etc.
