Music study at TWU has a long and distinguished history. TWU established the first university level department of music in the state of Texas in 1915. TWU also established one of the first music therapy majors in the country in 1953. Coming soon! TWU Music presents The Suffragist, a new musical about Alice Paul, the woman who changed the tactics of the suffrage movement.
Written by Nancy Hill Cobb and Cavan Hallman, The Suffragist commemorates TWU’s 125th anniversary and coincides with the TWU Dream Big Campaign.

Recently, TWU had the honor of hosting , a weeklong sports camp for students who are visually impaired! Five of our graduate music therapy students joined the campers throughout the week, helping them explore, create, and perform music at a phenomenal talent show. 🎶
We are so proud of our music therapy students Emilie Casper, Evelina Thornhill, Emma Edwards, Skylar Schaffer, and Joslyn Moore, as well as our very own Dr. MD (DJ Della), for all their hard work in making this camp a truly musically memorable experience! 💜

Just a few of the amazing photos and memories made on TWU Concert Choir’s trip to Greece and Bulgaria! They performed in Athens and the University of Macedonia in Thessaloniki where they presented the world premiere of Lina Tonia’s “Chaos.” A special musical highlight of this trip was a concert in Sofia, Bulgaria where the choir performed alongside world-renowned The Mystery of the Bulgarian Voices Women’s Choir!
