Miss Izzy Kissinger is a 17 year old Senior at Decatur High School. Her first role in “A Gift for Emma” was as a “Rosebud” in 2015! This year she will be dancing the parts of Swingin Elves, Snowflakes, Seaweed, Peacock, Spanish Dancer, and Jazz Class Finale. Izzy’s favorite roles over the years are either “Emma” in 2019 or “Ballerina Doll” because that was my first big role. She dances 8 hours a week at DDC. “Mrs. Lisa Racina-Torre is like my 2nd mom, always encouraging & supporting my endeavors. Mrs. Kimberley Mayes pushes me to think outside the box & expand my inner artist. Ms. Lisa Neely’s class always brings a smile to my face, her creative energy makes ballet fun. Mrs. Nicole Jordan always pushes my stamina, making me into a stronger dancer. Mrs. Kristin Klade has such a kind nature and always encourages me even on my off days.” Izzy attended DCCB’s Educational Tour of New York City in 2017, New York City Dance Alliance Convention, DDC’s Summer Intensive, DDC’s Back to School Intensives, Dallas Conservatory Summer Intensive, and DCCB’s Thom Clower Winter Ballet Intensive. “When I’m not dancing, I enjoy surrounding myself with friends, playing ukelele, or reading my bible. I plan to attend college at a University as a dance major, also studying kinesiology to potentially become a physical therapist, or pursue a career in dance education & choreography.” “I’m involved in extra-curriculars, such as STUCO, NHS, Theatre, Choir, & I help lead a bible study group at school. Amongst all those things, dance is the only blessing that allows me to be truly free and escape reality!”
