WHAT AN AMAZING FIRST DAY AT RIVERA!

Our Rivera STARS had an incredible first day of school! Today was all about learning, practicing, and building routines that will help us have a successful year. Our students did such a wonderful job getting to know their classrooms, teachers, and classmates!

We also had some very special visitors help us kick off the morning! A huge THANK YOU to the Denton Police Department and members of First United Methodist Church (FUMC) for coming out to welcome our students and families back to Rivera.

We are incredibly grateful for community partners who continue to show up for our students and remind them just how many people are cheering them on.

Day 1 is in the books, and we are so excited for the year ahead!

¡QUÉ INCREÍBLE PRIMER DÍA DE CLASES!

¡Nuestras ESTRELLAS de Rivera tuvieron un primer día de clases increíble! Hoy nos enfocamos en aprender, practicar y establecer rutinas que nos ayudarán a tener un año escolar exitoso. ¡Nuestros estudiantes hicieron un excelente trabajo conociendo sus salones, maestros y compañeros!

También tuvimos unos visitantes muy especiales que nos ayudaron a comenzar la mañana de una manera maravillosa. Un enorme GRACIAS al Departamento de Policía de Denton y a los miembros de First United Methodist Church (FUMC) por acompañarnos para dar la bienvenida a nuestros estudiantes y familias de regreso a Rivera.

Estamos profundamente agradecidos por nuestros colaboradores de la comunidad, quienes continúan apoyando a nuestros estudiantes y recordándoles cuántas personas están animándolos y deseándoles lo mejor.

¡El Día 1 ya quedó en los libros y estamos muy emocionados por todo lo que nos espera este año!

As we prepare for dismissal, please help us make sure every student gets home safely, smoothly, and through the correct dismissal process**.

🚗 Car riders will begin dismissing at 3:00 PM. Please remain in your vehicle, follow the car line, and have your dismissal information ready so we can keep the line moving efficiently.

🚌 Daycare dismissal will take place from 3:00–3:07 PM, and buses will depart at 3:07 PM. Walkers will be dismissed after buses have cleared.

📱 If your child rides the bus, please make sure you have downloaded the bus app and confirmed your child’s route.

Please communicate any transportation changes to the school **before 2:00 PM** so we have enough time to make sure your child is in the correct dismissal location.

Mientras nos preparamos para la salida, por favor ayúdennos a asegurarnos de que cada estudiante llegue a casa de manera segura, organizada y siguiendo el proceso correcto de salida.

🚗 Los estudiantes que se van en carro comenzarán a salir a las 3:00 p. m. Por favor, permanezcan en su vehículo, sigan la fila de carros y tengan lista la información de salida para ayudarnos a mantener la fila avanzando de manera eficiente.

🚌 La salida de las guarderías será de 3:00 a 3:07 p. m., y los autobuses saldrán a las 3:07 p. m. Los estudiantes que caminan a casa saldrán después de que los autobuses hayan salido.

📱 Si su hijo(a) viaja en autobús, por favor asegúrense de haber descargado la aplicación del autobús y confirmado la ruta de su hijo(a).

As we prepare for arrival, please help us keep our students safe and our car line moving smoothly each morning.

🚗 All car riders must use the designated car line and enter from Morse St. Please do not drop students off in the staff/visitor parking lot or along the side streets.

⏰ Car rider drop-off is from 7:15–7:40 AM. If you arrive after 7:40, please park and walk your child into the front office.

Please remain in your vehicle while in the car line, pull all the way forward, and allow our staff members to assist your child as they exit.

Thank you for your patience, cooperation, and partnership as we work together to create a safe and smooth arrival for all of our Rivera STARS!

Mientras nos preparamos para la llegada de nuestros estudiantes, ayúdennos a mantener a todos seguros y a que la fila de carros avance de manera eficiente cada mañana.

🚗 Todos los estudiantes que llegan en carro deben usar la fila designada y entrar por Morse St. Por favor, no dejen a los estudiantes en el estacionamiento de personal/visitantes ni en las calles laterales.

⏰ La llegada en carro es de 7:15 a 7:40 a. m. Si llegan después de las 7:40, por favor estaciónense y acompañen a su hijo(a) a la oficina.

Por favor, permanezcan en su vehículo mientras estén en la fila, avancen lo más posible y permitan que nuestro personal ayude a su hijo(a) a bajar del carro.

A little preparation tonight can help make tomorrow morning smoother and less stressful. Here are a few simple tips!

Un poquito de preparación esta noche puede ayudar a que mañana por la mañana todo sea más fácil y menos estresante. ¡Aquí les compartimos algunos consejos sencillos!

We are so thankful for the incredible support of our local community partner, First United Methodist Church!

Throughout our back-to-school season, FUMC has continued to show up for our Rivera Stars in such meaningful ways. They donated gift cards for student supplies, which we were able to place inside the backpacks generously donated by Atmos Energy. They also brought in supplies for our teachers to help them start the year strong.

And yesterday, we felt a little like Oprah—“You get a gift card! You get a gift card!” 🎉 Each of our teams received Walmart gift cards to help purchase additional classroom and student needs.

It truly takes a village, and we could not do this work without the generosity, partnership, and love of our community. Thank you, First United Methodist Church, for investing in our students, our teachers, and our Rivera family.

We are grateful to have you in our corner!

¡Estamos profundamente agradecidos por el increíble apoyo de nuestro socio comunitario local, First United Methodist Church (FUMC)!

Durante esta temporada de regreso a clases, FUMC ha continuado apoyando a nuestras Estrellas de Rivera de maneras muy especiales. Donaron tarjetas de regalo para útiles escolares, las cuales pudimos colocar dentro de las mochilas generosamente donadas por Atmos Energy. También trajeron útiles y materiales para ayudar a nuestros maestros a comenzar el año con todo lo necesario.

Y ayer, nos sentimos un poquito como Oprah: “¡Tú recibes una tarjeta de regalo! ¡Tú recibes una tarjeta de regalo!” 🎉 Cada uno de nuestros equipos recibió tarjetas de regalo de Walmart para ayudar a comprar materiales adicionales para sus salones y para nuestros estudiantes.

Realmente se necesita toda una comunidad, y no podríamos hacer este trabajo sin la generosidad, el apoyo y el cariño de quienes nos rodean. Gracias, First United Methodist Church, por invertir en nuestros estudiantes, nuestros maestros y nuestra familia Rivera.

Our Rivera Stars Are Back!

Tonight was all about YOU, Rivera Stars! Seeing your smiling faces, big hugs, excited waves, and all the energy filling our hallways made our hearts so happy!

We loved watching you find your classrooms, meet your teachers, see old friends, and get excited about everything waiting for you this year.

We’ll see you Thursday morning for the FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL! Come ready to learn, grow, make memories, and SHINE!

Rivera is ready for you, Stars—let’s make this year one to remember!

¡Esta noche fue dedicada a USTEDES, Estrellas de Rivera! Ver sus caritas sonrientes, recibir tantos abrazos, ver sus saludos llenos de emoción y sentir toda esa energía en nuestros pasillos nos llenó el corazón de alegría.

Nos encantó verlos encontrar sus salones, conocer a sus maestros, reencontrarse con sus amigos y emocionarse por todo lo que les espera este año.

¡Los esperamos el jueves por la mañana para nuestro PRIMER DÍA DE CLASES! Vengan listos para aprender, crecer, crear recuerdos y ¡BRILLAR!

We are so excited to welcome you back into the building for Meet the Teacher Night!

🕠 5:30–6:00 PM: 5th Grade Parent Meeting in the Cafeteria
🏠 5:30–6:30 PM: FLS & Pre-K Families
🎒 6:00–7:00 PM: Kinder–5th Grade Families

As soon as you arrive, be sure to pick up a checklist so you can make sure you have everything you need before you leave for the evening.

Before heading home, drop your completed checklist in the designated container to be entered into our raffle!

We can’t wait to see our Rivera Stars and families tonight!

Meet Our New Rivera Star – Ms. Ashley Ghazaleh!

We’re excited to welcome Ms. Ashley Ghazaleh, our new 3rd Grade Math, Science, and Social Studies Teacher, to the Rivera family! With 12 years of experience, she is passionate about helping students grow in confidence, discover their strengths, and feel supported every step of the way.
