It’s the Cornerstone parents! 🌈

As a cooperative preschool, our school is guided each year by a ‘Parent Executive Board’ made up entirely of volunteer parents. These parents work alongside our Director to help make decisions, support our teachers, plan events, manage the behind-the-scenes details, and quite literally help keep Cornerstone running.

Our Board has roles for all kinds of talents:

✏️ Secretary
💰 Income & Expense Treasurers
🎉 Fundraising Coordinator
📣 Marketing Coordinator (that’s me!)
🤝 Membership Coordinator
🔨 Building Manager
🙋‍♀️ Volunteer Coordinator (they help setup our Parent Helper calendar)

And here’s the really special part: these aren’t paid positions. They’re parents volunteering their time because they believe in this school and want to help shape the community their children are growing up in.

That’s the heart of a cooperative preschool. It creates a sense of ownership and community that is difficult to replicate in a traditional school setting.

So, at Cornerstone Cooperative Preschool, it really does take a village…and we’re pretty lucky to have ours! 🩵

Yesterday, our Cornerstone families had the sweetest morning together at littlelightplayhouse in Pilot Point!

While the children explored the adorable playhouses and let their imaginations run wild, the grown ups enjoyed a comfortable space to visit. (Can we hear it for the air conditioning?)

One of the things we love most about our cooperative preschool is that our community doesn’t stop when the school year does. Even though classes are out for a few more weeks, our amazing volunteer Special Events Coordinator continues planning opportunities for our families to gather! 💛

We're feeling incredibly grateful for our Cornerstone community…we are excited to share that nearly all of our classes for the 2026–2027 school year are now full! The ONLY remaining openings are a few spots in our Tuesday/Thursday Pre-K class (for ages 3 ½ to 5) at this time.

We are truly overwhelmed by the interest and support from so many wonderful families. Thank you for considering Cornerstone Cooperative Preschool as part of your child's early learning journey!

What is a cooperative preschool? 🌱

It’s a place where parents and teachers work hand-in-hand to create something special for children. At Cornerstone, families aren’t just dropping off and picking up their kiddos…they are part of the community that makes our school thrive! 🌈

Our co-op model means parents contribute their time, talents, and energy to support the classroom and the school as a whole. Parents serve as classroom helpers, help with events, care for parts of our school, or take on leadership roles on the parent executive board. Every family brings something unique!

But the greatest gift of a cooperative preschool is the community it creates. Children get to see their parents involved in their learning. Parents build friendships with other families. Teachers are supported by a group of parents who are invested in every child’s experience.

At Cornerstone, children learn through nature, play, creativity, and connection…while families grow alongside them.

A cooperative preschool is more than a school. It’s a community. 💙

☀️ A brand new month of Summer Camp is here at Cornerstone Cooperative Preschool! Our campers will spend their days exploring nature, creating art, splashing in water play (or mud!), reading stories, and enjoying plenty of time to learn through play!

There’s nothing quite like watching little ones build confidence, make new friends, and soak up the magic of summer! 🌻

What a fantastic first week of Summer Camp at Cornerstone! ☀️⛱️🐛

We’re so excited to launch this new program and loved seeing our “campers” jump right into the fun. We’re keeping a comfortable rhythm to our days with outdoor adventures, read-alouds, imaginative play, self-help skills, quiet time, and lots of opportunities to explore. While our schedule may flex to meet the needs and interests of the children, our focus remains the same: creating a joyful, engaging, child-centered summer experience.
