Stacy Nunnelee, principal lecturer in our Department of Audiology & Speech-Language Pathology, is part of an exciting upcoming project - a play by award-winning playwright Cris Eli Blak about people who stutter. Nunnelee was approached by a friend, Gregg Jackson, who wanted to contribute to the world of stuttering through a play he could produce and use the proceeds to give back to the stuttering community.
Through some research, and a connection with SPACE, a nonprofit that advocates for people who stutter and promotes the arts, she was put in direct contact with Blak who agreed to write The Sound of the Wild Horse, a beautiful and inspiring story about someone who is navigating acceptance of stuttering along with life and relationships.
It will be performed July 31 and Aug. 1 at 7 p.m. at Argyle's New Song School of the Arts' Black Box Theatre. Tickets are $10.
