Week 3 of Drawing Class ✏️

This week was all about shading a sphere and learning how light creates form, turning a simple circle into something that actually feels three-dimensional. Now that they know how to shade a sphere, they can start creating other 3-D forms.

Week 2 of drawing class! ✏️☕🎨

This week, we learned how to build objects using simple shapes. Students practiced drawing coffee mugs from reference, breaking them down into basic forms to better understand their structure and proportions.

Once they had the foundation down, they got to add their own flair and turn their mugs into unique designs! I loved seeing everyone’s creativity and personality come through in their artwork.

Today in art class, we learned about the amazing artist, Mary Blair, and explored how she used bold shapes and vibrant colors in her artwork.

Inspired by her unique style, we created our own expressive, colorful castles filled with fun shapes, bright colors, and lots of imagination!

Each castle turned out wonderfully unique. 💛🏰 💙

First day of drawing class! ✏️

We started by learning about observation and really seeing what’s in front of us through an upside-down drawing exercise.

It was such a fun way to kick off our first class and start building the foundation for drawing: slow down, look closely, and really see. 👀✏️
