In reading the book: "How to Talk So Little Kids Will Listen" by Joanna Faber and Julie King they discuss the tools for handling emotions for children age 2-7. The five tools are: 1. Acknowledge Feelings with Words 2. Acknowledge Feelings with Writing 3. Acknowledge Feelings with Art 4. Give in Fantasy What You Cannot Give In Reality 5. Acknowledge Feelings with (Almost) Silent Attention.
Wouldn't it be great if everyone, everywhere would use these five tools in response to emotions of not only only children but also adults!

I used this website to create a sensory "Matching Game" used in circle time to review the animal unit. This preschool game allows new learners to match labeled pictures with 3D plastic figurines. The matching picture cards (tiger, horse, deer, moose, etc.) are made in a google doc or word document, label added and laminated with clear contact paper for reuse. This is an example of a Montessori inspired game used in daycare.
