Civic engagement and meaningful dialogue are an important part of the college experience. 💙🐯

Earlier this evening, Congressman James E. Clyburn held a town hall on the campus of Voorhees University, bringing members of the community together for conversation and engagement.

During his visit, Congressman Clyburn also took time to connect with Voorhees students, speak with members of the campus community and share a few moments with our Tigers.

📚 A great day of learning, reflection and community at Voorhees University!

Today’s Diocesan Learning Day brought together alumni, faculty, staff, students and guests for meaningful conversations centered on the history, mission and legacy of Voorhees University.

Alumni shared stories about their experiences and journeys at Voorhees, while faculty and staff reflected on the University’s mission and its continued commitment to education, service and community.

Attendees also heard from the Center of Excellence for Education & Innovation (EPI) about its mission, vision and trajectory, while learning more about the remarkable legacy of Voorhees University founder Elizabeth Evelyn Wright and the history and significance of St. Philip’s Chapel.

It was a day filled with storytelling, connection, history and a deeper appreciation for the people and purpose that continue to shape Voorhees University.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make Diocesan Learning Day such a meaningful experience. 💙🐯

Voorhees University came together in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month for an important All College Assembly centered on awareness, education, resources, prevention, and support for survivors.

The conversation served as a reminder that building a safer, stronger campus community takes all of us through education, open dialogue, accountability, and making sure those who need support know resources are available.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this meaningful program possible and to our campus community for continuing to stand together in support of safety, respect, and awareness. 💜

🤝 Building partnerships. Exploring opportunities. Advancing the future of Voorhees University.

Voorhees University welcomed Jacob French, State Director for USDA Rural Development, for a campus visit and strategic discussion focused on opportunities to support the University’s continued growth and development.

During the visit, Dr. Ronnie Hopkins, 10th President and CEO of Voorhees University, provided a Presidential Overview highlighting institutional priorities, strategic initiatives, and the University’s vision for the future.

University leadership also engaged in conversations surrounding potential USDA Rural Development funding opportunities that could support campus infrastructure, facility improvements, technology, sustainability, community and economic development, and other strategic initiatives.

The visit represents another step in strengthening partnerships and identifying resources that can help advance Voorhees University and the communities we serve.

🚨🤖 BIG NEWS FOR VOORHEES UNIVERSITY!
Voorhees University has been awarded a $1,188,800 grant from the U.S. Department of Labor to establish the Artificial Intelligence Institute of Technology and Research Center (AIITRC) — a major investment in the future of education, innovation and workforce development at Voorhees. 💙🐯
At the center of the initiative will be the transformation of Bedford Hall into a modern hub for artificial intelligence education, undergraduate research, workforce preparation and community engagement.

The new AIITRC will feature advanced computing infrastructure, GPU-enabled systems, hybrid instructional technology and collaborative innovation spaces designed to give students and faculty hands-on access to emerging technologies while extending new training and workforce opportunities throughout Denmark, Bamberg and surrounding rural communities.
