Some opportunities leave a mark on your heart, and this was one of them. 🥋❤️

Over the past month, I looked forward to my afternoons at Little Hawks Daycare each week. Watching these kids learn, laugh, encourage one another, and grow in confidence reminded me why I love sharing Taekwondo.

Every bow, every smile, every high five, and every small accomplishment mattered. My hope is that they leave with more than a few new Taekwondo skills. I hope they remember that they are strong, capable, respectful, and braver than they sometimes believe.

Thank you, Little Hawks Daycare, for welcoming me and allowing me to be a small part of these children's summer. They gave me just as much as I hope I gave them. 💙

My Morning Grounding Thoughts:

What the Test Really Shows 🥋🌿

I tested my Taekwondo students yesterday.

What people often see is technique.
Clean lines. Strong kicks. Sharp forms.

But what I notice is something quieter.

The student who used to look at the floor now looks forward.
The hands that once shook now find their place in a steady guard.
The breath that used to rush now knows how to settle.

A belt test doesn’t just measure skill.

It reveals presence.

And presence is something you build long before the test day ever arrives.

It’s built in the middle of ordinary practice.
In repetition.
In correction.
In starting again when it would be easier to stop.

Like so much in life, progress doesn’t announce itself.

It shows up later and surprises you with how far you’ve come.

Not everything needs to be perfect to be real.

And not everything real looks impressive while it’s happening.

Sometimes growth just looks like showing up again.
