In the wake of adversity, we come together for good.
Denison ISD tragically lost Rhett Richards, 3rd grader at Mayes Elementary, over the weekend. Many individuals have asked how they can help the family at this time. The Richards family is requesting memorial donations be made to the Denison Education Foundation. Donations made to Rhett's memorial fund will either be used towards a scholarship fund or a special memorial project.

DEF is here to get you prepared for BOTA and back to school!
We ordered a small batch of these beautiful sturdy door hangers, and we have just a few left for $55.00 each.

We also have our garden flags for $10.00 each and our large flags for $25.00 each.

What a great 2026-2027 Denison ISD Convocation! We are ready for another school year with our theme of ‘Building Education.’

This event wouldn’t be successful without the Denison Chamber, City of Denison, Texas Government, Mayor Robert Crawley, School Board Chair Bob Rhoden, Main Street Coordinator Grant Yoder, DEF Board President Debra McNair, Assistant Superintendent Kyle Uber, Athletic Director Brian Lilley, and Denison Alumni Association representatives Rayce Guess and Mr. Parker.

Thank you to the many local donors who gave door prizes to our DISD staff! 🐝📣

We are welcoming new teachers and getting excited for another great school year!

We are excited to announce that the Denison Education Foundation has moved to the former B. McDaniel Intermediate School at 400 S. Lillis Ave!

Our former office, shown below, was a small closet space. We are thrilled to move into a much larger room!

Please be patient with us as we transition over the next few weeks. DEF will share a space in the library with the Denison Alumni Museum. There is still some work that needs to be completed before we are able to move into the library. We will keep you updated when we are ready for museum visitors later this fall!

Feel free to reach out to us if you need anything in the meantime. We are looking forward to a great 2026-2027 school year! 🐝

Congratulations to the DHS Class of 2026! The Denison Education Foundation is proud to administer $95,469.00 in scholarships to support our students in higher education!

We love to see our DEF Classroom Grants in action! Check out DHS Chemistry/Food Science teacher, Heather Arthur Stinnet's Hydroponic Towers.

"I wanted to share the progress on our hydroponic towers in Food Science and Chemistry at DHS before it gets gobbled up this year.

The students absolutely love caring for, learning about, and tasting the different edible plants that we have grown. We tested forms of nutrients, and the liquid nutrition was the winner!

From the process of photosynthesis to the energy transfer of digestion, students have enjoyed a hands-on experience of food production right inside the classroom.

We have grown a little bit of everything: kale, several varieties of lettuce/greens, sunflowers, tomatoes, peppers, basil, dill, cilantro, onions, bok choy, hot mustard, and kohlrabi.

We can’t wait to enjoy and share the nutritious goodies."
