Accreditation-Provisional is an accreditation status granted when the plans and resource allocation, if fully implemented as planned, of a proposed program that has not yet enrolled students appear to demonstrate the program’s ability to meet the ARC-PA Standards or when a program holding Accreditation-Provisional status appears to demonstrate continued progress in complying with the Standards as it prepares for the graduation of the first class (cohort) of students. The Austin College PA program is approved by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. The program’s accreditation history can be viewed on the ARC-PA website at https://www.arc-pa.org/accreditation-history-austin-college/.

Study groups also foster collaboration, a skill that is essential in healthcare. Our PA students learn to work as part of a team, share knowledge, and support one another through academic and clinical challenges. These interactions mirror the interdisciplinary teamwork they will experience as future healthcare providers.

Our students had the opportunity to enhance their clinical skills by learning Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) under the guidance of Dr. Guan. Through hands-on instruction and real-time imaging practice, students gained valuable experience using ultrasound as a diagnostic tool at the bedside. Dr. Guan emphasized the practical applications of POCUS in patient assessment, helping students develop confidence in image acquisition, interpretation, and clinical decision-making. This interactive learning experience strengthened students' understanding of anatomy and reinforced the growing importance of POCUS in modern healthcare practice.
"These Point-of-Care Ultrasounds were funded in thanks to a generous grant from the Discovery Foundation."
