The philosophy of a childcare center largely influences the types of activities, the curriculum and the kind of care that will be present in the center. Therefore, it is imperative that parents become familiar with the philosophy behind the center in order to understand the focus of the program. We at Don Avenue Baptist Daycare feel that the program should focus on the development of the whole chi

ld. In order to do this, we look at the cognitive, physical, emotional, and social needs of each child. We feel that children grow in these four different stages, but that children also need to grow spiritually. Therefore, we feel that in order for children to grow, they need to exist in a setting that meets these five basic needs. It is also our belief that we are more than a service; we are a ministry to the total development of a child. Therefore, it is our utmost concern that our program provides a nurturing, comfortable, loving, Christian environment that is specifically structured to meet the physical, emotional, spiritual, and developmental needs of each individual child. Lastly, we feel it is most important that we work closely with the families in order to secure an environment that is most beneficial to the child.
