The DOW Red Stick Rumble The DOW Red Stick Rumble is an off-season FIRST Robotics Event where FRC, FTC, and FLL teams show off their robots and prepare for the next season.

You spend months of nights, weekends, and bathroom breaks building a robot the size of your great-aunt’s suitcase. Then you compete in a few regionals where you stay in a hotel room with eight of your closest friends, chew away most of your fingernails during alliance selection, spend thirty minutes frantically searching for the only tool that will keep your frame from falling apart. Afterward, wh

en the build-site is silent and your robot is safely stored for the year, you go home and find that the video-game console just doesn’t seem to do it for you anymore and you silently count down the days to the next Kickoff. The DOW Red Stick Rumble is the our answer to Build Season withdrawal. Coming in August of 2022, the 9th Annual Dow Red Stick Rumble is Louisiana's largest off-season FIRST Robotics Competition event. FRC teams are invited to come and relive the regional experience. Show off your pit, pull out that leftover hair dye, fix that mechanism that always seemed to work on the practice field and cheer as you field your robot against (graciously professional) competitors.

To the volunteers and students to helped make this event possible to the teams that competed for the entire day to take home the RSR banner. Congratulations to event winners FRC #8044, Denham Venom, SWLA Tech Pirates, and KNOS Robotics 9405 for their victory, and to all of the award winners from the Pits.

Our Red Stick Rumble community has always stepped up, whether it was donating school supplies after the 2016 flood, giving blood, or helping families in transition. This year, we’re turning our support toward another part of the family: our furry friends. We’re partnering with Rescue, Rehome, Repeat to provide for dogs in need of adoption. A big thank you to Brandon Boyd and his amazing crew of referees for their work at the Rumble. And to add even more thanks, Brandon is the reason we had a successful live media stream and all of these great pictures as well.

The Rumble is a community event made possible by people who sacrifice their own time so that students can demonstrate their ingenuity and grit and most importantly can grow towards being the next group of innovators that will create change in our world.
