Our Story
Bon Temps Musique is currently offering private lessons to ages 4- Adult in the Watson/Denham Springs Area. Areas of Instruction: Piano, Composition/Song Writing, and Theory - Alicia Bourdier Percussion and Beginning Brass- James Bourdier About the Instructors: Husband and wife duo, James and Alicia Bourdier, are both from the Baton Rouge area and both hold degrees in Music. James holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Lamar University in Texas. Alicia holds a Bachelor of Music Composition from Louisiana State University with concentrations in piano performance and piano pedagogy. Both are members of TMEA and certified in Music EC-12. In addition to private lessons, James has taught elementary music, junior high band, as well as high school band and has 30+ years experience teaching private lessons and performing. Alicia has over 20+ years of studio teaching experience, and has also taught Kindermusik, elementary music k-5 , and most recently served as the Director of Piano Studies at Smithson Valley High School prior to returning to Louisiana. Both Instructors have a deep passion and love for music and encourage creativity and individuality in each student. Each lesson is personalized and tailored to meet the desires, needs and goals of each student. Bon Temps Musique... because life without Music is like a Story without Words.
