Alumni highlight!! Go Lions🦁💚

Along with our new school leadership appointments for 2026-27 that were previously announced, we've had some additional ones over the summer to share!

• Rahsaan Matthews has joined the team at Burney-Harris-Lyons Middle School as an Assistant Principal after having served as Assistant Principal of Bettye H. Holston Elementary since 2021. A 21-year veteran educator, Mr. Matthews began his career in 2005 as a math teacher at Clarke Central High School and then taught middle school math in the Walton County, Newton County, and Social Circle City school systems before returning to CCSD in 2021. He holds a bachelor's degree in Commerce from the University of Virginia, a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Georgia, and an Education Specialist degree in Teaching and Learning from Piedmont University.

• Quowanna Mattox has joined Coile Middle School as an Assistant Principal after having served as AP of Harmony Elementary School in Walton County since 2024. Ms. Mattox has 15 years of educational experience, including as a middle school math teacher in Madison County, Assistant Principal of Madison County Middle School, and Principal of the former Royston Elementary School (now South Franklin). Ms. Mattox holds a bachelor's degree in Middle Grades Education from the University of Georgia, a master's in Middle Grades Education and Education Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Piedmont University, and is in the process of earning her doctorate in Education Leadership from Piedmont.
