Get ready to build, shape, and create! Dynamite Sculpture invites students to dive into hands-on, three-dimensional art. Working with recycled and found materials, we’ll make everything from papier-mâché and relief sculptures to wood assemblage, wire mobiles, and cardboard constructions!

Through drawing and painting, you’ll learn how to tell powerful stories, design unforgettable characters, and create personal tales that wow the world. Using traditional art techniques, you will bring your own stories and entire universes to life.

Cute Critters & Woolly Sculptures:
No sewing, knitting, or gluing required! In this hands-on class, students will explore the art of needle felting—an art form where barbed needles are used to gently poke and shape soft sheep’s wool, causing the fibers to interlock and form a firm, sculptable material. Students will learn step-by-step techniques to create felted wall art through “felt painting,” as well as sculptural projects!

Clay Creations:
Students will engage in a hands-on exploration of air-dry clay while learning essential hand-building techniques. Instruction will include working with slabs, forming pinch pots, and constructing with coils. Nature-themed projects may include birds’ nest pinch pots, nature prints, fairy houses, and more. Finished pieces will be painted with acrylic paints. Dress to mess!
