I am very excited to announce my candidacy for the Closter seat on the Northern Valley Regional Board of Education.
Education is very dear to my heart and I believe that every student deserves the right to an inclusive education.
As an avid reader and thinker in High School and English/Philosophy major in college, I was able to immerse myself in historical eras, places and hardships that changed my life and my perception of who I was. It was not about me. It was about the greater good. Education made me who I am and I am proud of who I have become.
As adults, we often forget that as the world evolves, so do our children. There is benefit in history and providing our kids with that insight. As Roosevelt said, “The more you know about the past, the better prepared you are for the future.”
Life is cyclical. Our children deserve an educational experience that will ensure foresight, kindness and thoughtfulness.
My hope is to insist that education continues to be inclusive and profound.
No racism.
No genderism.
No anything.
We are one. Let’s live together in a place where we learn from each other with kindness.
