📚book week📚

This time I decided to put pictures of the book I have use in my years of working in early childcare or even when I did the teaching part.
As a personal choice I like to read about all the different educational theories or even curriculum because I feel all the children are different, have diverse backgrounds and learn in different ways. As a teacher I need to have the flexibility of modifying my lesson plan to explore each student learning. With this I can’t not put all my student learning in a small square of learning. I might use the Montessori approach with some, other the planing of high scope or maybe the art aspect of the creativity curriculum.

I invite you to expand the learning horizons with your children or student. Believe me is going to be fun and engaging. 🖍

📚Early Literacy in Childcare 📖
In my years working in Daycare as a teacher then up the chain up to when I was a Director something that I always encourage in my curriculum and to my teacher is the importance of reading to the kids.

Literacy can encourage in the children curiosity plus it helps them with the development of new vocabulary, reading and many other skills necessary for school and life. 🤓

One thing that I do for saving money 💸 I always wait a week or two after a big holiday (Xmas,Easter…) and go to the stores when they put everything in sales (even the books. ) I will buy different books and then save them to always have a diverse library for the kiddos. (Some of them I had buy them at .25 cents)
✏️I will let you guys know when the have specials … please check our stories … some of the clearance book have to have special names in the books 🤪

📝Other good tip for books … is giving a second hand books an opportunity. Go to the thrift stores. You will find many amazing books in excellent conditions. Plus this will help with sustainability of the world 🌎

I know I have missing a little but I promise is for a good thing ☀️
Just like the picture life is an open road and maybe you don’t know the end of it, but sure enough you need to enjoy the view and the trip.

My new adventure are working on helping opening a new daycare working as the director and in the same moment working hard to create my business plan from scratch to get a posible loan in .

I will give any information to you guys because I know how difficult can be doing everything alone. I am here for you any questions please let me know...

When I was in the process of applying for the the first step I took was taking the 120 hours class requirement.
💻 First I thought how fast I wanted to complete the hours, and what method I would like more? Online or In-person
I compared both of them and they have pros and no-no’s.
💻online- first of all the majority of the classes are self paced and some of them give you all the books and manuals. For the online I found many classes that can provide you the information is more inexpensive way. 📝So if you’re looking to save a little bit online is the way... BUT the problem I saw was that because is self taught you don’t have the help or it can be easy to learn and forget.
📚The in-person classes they are taught in small centers or universities. They provided more mentoring and hands on experience. BUT is more expensive and it can take a little bit longer to finish. They have different financial options like grants or payment plans.
💡💡Important to be careful when choosing the classes that the company is accredited by the the Council and the focus their teaching in the Standards. If you see that is not accredited please don’t put your investment💡💡
📖 In the end I decided to took an online class because I was looking to finish more faster and I knew I had the time and availability to study full time. Plus I save 💸💸 win-win situation.

My recommendation is take your time in comparing all the schools you like and do a small celebration dance. 🍾 Because you’re doing the first step to grow in the world.

🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏽WHAT IS THE CDA Credential?🤷🏽🤷🏼‍♀️

Some states require that you comply with a certain amount of CEU (Continuing Education Unit); for example, you need to have or complete 45 hours in your first year of working in Florida.

Another way you can expand your knowledge, advance in your position, and have a boost of confidence in yourself. Is by applying and having a CDA Credential. The Council of Professional Recognition says that the Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential™ is based on a core set of competency standards, which guide early care professionals as they work toward becoming qualified teachers of young children. 💻📚The CDA is a three-part process after applying for the certification. They are Portfolio, Observation Visit, and taking an exam.

As a teacher I am always trying to search new and FUN ways to teach. I find that some of my best ideas 💡 have come when I play and listen the necessities of my kids.
Children are curious by nature and the love to explore and learn by investigating new things. 👩🏽‍🔬🧑🏾‍🔬

What do you need for work in childcare?
Working with kids can be a gratifying job full of new experiences and memories every day with their curiosity and imagination. It is important to know that for working in a childcare or directly with kids, it can be in a family-home base or as a nanny. It would be best to have these important skills strong communication, fast decision making, physical and a LOT of PATIENCE.
Many of the employees will require a High School diploma or GED, CPR and First Aid (Valid for 2 years), some training in fire safety or fire extinguisher, Medication Administration, or childcare personal basic training. In Florida, in your first 90 days of employment, you need to start working on your 45 required hours, and every year you will need to do 10 hours of training. 📝

In Puerto Rico and I the Latin American culture on January 6 we celebrate the arrival of the 3 kings to see the newborn Jesus. 🤴🏿🤴🏾🤴🏻 Children the night before (5th) recollect grass 🌿🌱from outside their houses and leave it in front of the tree as food for the Camels. 🐪🐫🐪 Then they receive small gifts in exchange and as a symbol like the 3 kings brought gifts to Jesus.
With this I want to show a little bit of the traditions of different cultures. I invite you to create a classroom where everyone feels invited and celebrated! ⭐️💫

2020 was a rough year for everyone, but it was a year that I saw many people reinventing themselves, a lot of thinking outside the box and creative ideas everywhere. 🌸
I was in that process too. I wanted to find my WHY and sparks ✨. I knew very early in my life that I wanted to help people and teach whatever knowledge I have to others.
💫People inspire me and I want to impact life even if is in a small quantity. 💫

In 2015 I started to work with young children and in the process of that I learned about the Child Development Associate ( ). At the moment I decided to take the CDA, in the country that I was living not a lot of people knew about it. 📚📖It was (still is) an amazing path and it helped me to grow professionally and personally. Now a few years later I have my CDA credentials, PD Specialist endorsed, Staff and Directors Credentials, Associate in Education and I have worked and read many many books in ECE.

Not to boredom you guys with my story. 😊 I decided to create a small space to help and give all the tricks and tips I have learn through the years in my path of ECE. 📝👶🏼👧🏾👦🏻🧒🏾
