🎶 New TEACHER SPOTLIGHT: MR. SETH SEEGMILLER 🎺
Please join us in welcoming Mr. Seth Seegmiller, our new Band and Orchestra Director at Delta High School! We are excited to have him join the DHS family and help our music programs grow and thrive.
Mr. Seegmiller grew up in St. George, Utah, and attended Desert Hills High School, where he was involved in band all four years. He has been playing the trumpet since 6th grade, and his love for music has continued to grow ever since.
After high school, Mr. Seegmiller attended Southern Utah University (SUU), where he was involved in the Jazz Band, Orchestra, Pep Band, and Brass Ensemble. When asked why he wanted to become a music teacher, he shared:
“In 8th grade, my teacher, Mr. Ryan Adair, taught me to love music and I have loved it ever since.”
It is clear that family is incredibly important to Mr. Seegmiller. When talking about his family, he lights up and says that he “loves dearly”. He gives his family credit for much of his success.
Mr. Seegmiller says his dad, Colby, has taught him “everything,” but especially how to problem solve and take what you have and make it work. His mom, Brenda, who shares a birthday with him, taught him that “life is better when you are happy.” He also has an older sister, Megan, an older brother, Adam, and a younger brother, Ryan.

When asked what he is most excited about in his new position, Mr. Seegmiller said he is looking forward to “working with students and community in building the band and orchestra programs.”
His goal for this year is to “help the students gain confidence to play music that sounds good to them and others.”
He has also been impressed with the Delta community, saying his favorite thing about Delta High School so far has been “how welcoming the whole community has been.”
This year, Mr. Seegmiller will also be working with Mr. David Andrade at Delta Middle School and getting to know the students there. (Thank you, Mr. Andrade, for helping make this transition a great one!)
At DHS, we are excited to see our band and orchestra programs grow and succeed under the direction of Mr. Seegmiller. We know he is going to be a big part of our school and our community for years to come.
