Core strength isn’t armor.
A strong midsection doesn’t put a shield around your spine. What actually changes how much your back tolerates is exposing it to load and letting it adapt - the same way every other tissue in your body works.
Planks and dead bugs aren’t wrong. They’re just not the mechanism people think they are.
Your back gets more durable by doing progressively harder things with your back. Not by bracing harder around it.
