🩰 BSOTD Dancewear & Shoe Swap

As we kick off another season, let's help make dance more affordable and sustainable for our BSOTD families! We're excited to host our this season's BSOTD Dancewear & Shoe Swap, giving families the opportunity to pass along outgrown dancewear and shoes while helping fellow dancers get ready for the new season.

Swap Dates
August 15th - 16th (Sat/Sun) | 12–4 PM | Studio E

Help another BSOTD dancer get ready for the season by donating dancewear and shoes your dancer has outgrown!

Accepted Items - All New or Gently Used
-Leotards/Biketards
-Dance skirts
-Bike shorts
-Ballet sweaters/warm-ups
-Outgrown BSOTD clothing merch
-Other dancewear in excellent condition
-Ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop shoes

New, unopened dance tights will be accepted. No Used Tights, please.

Please do not bring costumes for this event.

Donation Guidelines
-Wash all clothing before donating.
-Shoes should be clean and in wearable condition.
-Bring donations to the studio by Friday, August 14th.
-Drop-offs may be made anytime the studio is open (Monday–-Thursday evenings and select daytime camp hours).

Leftover Donations

Any unclaimed items after the swap will be donated to dancers in need or saved for future BSOTD families.

🌪️ 2026–2027 BSOTD Ballet Production Announcement 🌈

We are thrilled to officially announce the theme of our 2026–2027 full-length ballet production, to be held in April 2027 at a theater to be announced soon!

This year, we are beyond excited to take you on a magical journey down the Yellow Brick Road as Barbara's School of the Dance proudly presents...

The Wizard of Oz

Follow Dorothy as she is swept away from her Kansas home into the enchanting Land of Oz. Along the way, she meets unforgettable friends—the Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Cowardly Lion—who each discover that the qualities they seek have been inside them all along. Together, they embark on an adventure filled with courage, friendship, heart, and the reminder that there's truly no place like home.

We cannot wait to showcase the incredible talents of our Junior and Senior dancers, along with all of our ballet students, and even feature dancers from several of our other styles throughout this spectacular production. Every dancer will help tell this beloved story through beautiful choreography, stunning costumes, and unforgettable performances.

Throughout the season, we'll be sharing exciting behind-the-scenes moments, introducing you to our Principal Dancers, revealing costumes, highlighting rehearsals, and hosting fun fundraisers to help bring this magical production to life.

The countdown to Oz officially begins now, and we can't wait to share every step of this journey with our amazing BSOTD family. Get ready for a season filled with imagination, hard work, and a little bit of magic.

-To perform in The Wizard of Oz, enroll in a class labeled "Wizard of Oz."

Can my dancer perform in both The Wizard of Oz and the June Recital? Absolutely! Simply enroll in both a class labeled "Wizard of Oz" and any recreational class. The Wizard of Oz classes perform only in our April production, while recreational classes perform only in our June Recital.

We have an exciting announcement- our beloved Miss Lauren is holding Charity Based Pop Up Dance/Exercise Classes during July/August for any dancer in grades 9-12, friends of dancers in that age group, and adults. Parents, bring your high school aged dancer and a friend to have a good time and take class. The proceeds from these classes will go towards a charity near and dear to Miss Lauren and BSOTD’s hearts- Fred’s Team with MSK (Memorial Sloan Kettering). Funds will support essential cancer research and treatment. The cost is $15 per class in efforts to raise money and payments will be accepted via Venmo or cash. Please email Miss Caley to sign up and see the attached flyers for more information.

Classes will take place on these dates from 7:00-8:00pm-

Here is a little bit more information about Fred’s Team with MSK (Memorial Sloan Kettering). Fred’s Team is a community of runners united by a shared mission to support lifesaving cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering. What makes it so powerful is that 100% of every dollar raised goes directly to advancing clinical trials and developing new treatments and groundbreaking therapies- turning each mile into hope, and meaningful progress toward a world without cancer.
Miss Lauren is running the NYC marathon this fall in support of this charity and in honor of her mom and everyone who has been affected by cancer.
