DelMarVa Model Railroad Club

DelMarVa Model Railroad Club Welcome! You're invited to our free model trains displays during Open House. Family friendly! Bill Shehan to promote the hobby of Model Railroading.

Delmarva Model Railroad Club is a member only organization, founded by Mr. This club is open to new membership. The members of the club meet every Wednesday night at 7:30 pm for work sessions. The first Wednesday of the month is a business meeting. The club opens to the public 4 times a year during the Annual Open House., to share the hobby and promote Model Railroading. The rest of the year, it i

s only open to club members. The model railroading hobby is very diverse, bringing many different skill levels to a club. Everyone who is a member loves trains. Some love the building of
scenery and models, others love the operations aspect of running the trains. The club is located on the 2nd floor of Camelot Hall, with no elevator. The property is owned by St Stephens United Methodist Church. The club is in the building at the grace and mercy of the board of elders, St Stephens UMC. Many discussions have taken place about retrofitting the building for an elevator or chair lift to the second floor, and it is beyond the resources of both the church and the club. We are are sorry if you are unable to climb the 22 steps to see the club layouts and invite you to check out other model railroads who may be more accessible - https://www.railserve.com/events/train_shows.html

The Harrington Heritage Day scheduled for this Saturday, August 22nd, has been canceled.

It is with a great deal of sadness that the City of Harrington announces the cancelation of the 48th Annual Harrington Heritage Day, scheduled for Aug 22, 2026. With the forecast of severe thunderstorms and locally heavy rains, the city must consider everyone's safety as our top priority.

However the library still plans on having some inside fun for the kids so check them out!!!!

With so many other events in our area over the next several weeks, a rain date is not possible.

For our vendors, we have options as far as the money paid for your space. Please contact us at [email protected]

We thank you for choosing to spend the day with us and hope to see you at more of our events!

REVISED—sorry, we had one date wrong!! This is our latest flyer! SHARE with your friends and SAVE these dates.

When it comes to automobiles, we all know about the age-old competition between Chevy and Ford. Trying to pick which is best draws from a long, long history of development, innovation, and advancements over years and years. Well, what about when it comes to trains? It's really no different. There's always been a fight to say who has the best product, locomotives in particular. Today's diesel locomotives are all pretty much the same, right? One railroad does its own thing and another does its. Hardly. EMD, GE, Progressive Rail, and Wabtec show us that the modern era of railroading is so much more complex than just moving freight from one place to another. How different brands of locomotives developed their systems and how those systems brought us off the rails and into the Board Rooms and Court Rooms of today's modern existence is about as far from shipping from A to B as you can get. If you are someone that likes to see the "behind-the-scenes" aspects of how the development of EMD and GE locomotives, with two very different power plants that started it all, has led to the duopoly of today, then set aside some time (about half an hour) to watch this video. And then go to the DelMarVa Model Railroad Club website to get all the dates for this year's upcoming Open House Season where you can see EMD, GE, and many other manufacturer brands of trains in the form of model trains of all shapes and sizes in person.

Here's another opportunity, not too far from home, to connect trains and the America 250 spirit. There are pretty good odds that you will see some America 250 themed trains during the 2026-2027 Open House Season at the DelMarVa Model Railroad Club, which is only about 5 months away.
