Nightlot Hops, a family of hops growers helping to revitalize New York State hops growing! We're also experimenting with a native variety donated by a neighbor.
In November of 2013, the Olivers were forced to face the fact that the property taxes on their 175 acres farm were too high to justify keeping so much fallow farmland. It's the time of year once again for the annual hop harvesting in the Catskills!
Hops Update! This years harvest was very small, but in talking to other hops growers....not a bad start for our first year!!! YAY
We decided to keep this batch- Matt Oliver made a home made
"dryer" and once dried, they were bagged and vacu sealed and froze! We hope to make a batch or two of beer and maybe some soap. Sam mentioned she's even heard of hops tea! Hummmmm
Our future plan is to plant 400 more "plants" and do a better job of being hops farmers!

Hi friends! We're ready to harvest our first hops! It's going to be a relatively small crop since this is out first year - are there any homebrewers out there interested in wet hops? Or soap makers who want to add a hoppy soap to their collection? Please share this to help us find a good home for them! Cheers!
