From honoring Asian Pacific American Heritage Month and Jewish American Heritage Month to celebrating Cinco de Mayo, Mother’s Day, and Memorial Day, May offers opportunities to reflect, connect, and celebrate diverse cultures and traditions.
Let’s celebrate, learn, and honor the many voices and stories that make our communities stronger.
AND, we get to boast about our amazing SUNY Delhi graduates at Commencement on May 16! Congratulations to all graduates!

The Perri DeFreece Memorial Scholarship honors the memory of a former Chief of Police and assists a SUNY Delhi student pursuing a criminal justice career. Congrats to Kaitlin Ogborn!
The J. William Harniman scholarship honors a former SUNY Delhi Vice President of Administration and President of the CADI Board of Directors. Congrats to Jade Eisner, Naomi Espinal, and Abby Smith!
To honor the memory of a former student, the Laurel Murphy Memorial Scholarship provides financial support to a Liberal Arts student who has overcome challenges to achieve academic success. Congrats to Aaliyah Stewart!
The Riddells value what SUNY Delhi provided and the guidance they received both in and out of the classroom. The Neil '62 & Linda '65 Riddell Scholarship was established to encourage Delhi campus leaders to complete their studies and become successful alumni. Congrats to Joselyn Lozado!
Established by Rory Somerstein-Campbell in memory of her son, the Marcus Somerstein Memorial Scholarship recognizes a student with a minimum 2.75 GPA and demonstrated need. Congrats to Jerilyn Frias!
To honor outstanding students who have successfully integrated academic excellence with extra-curricular and community-oriented accomplishments on campus and in the community, the prestigious Chancellor's Award for Student Excellence was awarded to Lauren Betsinger and Emily Festenstein!

April is filled with opportunities to learn, reflect, and celebrate together.
This month, we recognize Arab American Heritage Month, Autism Acceptance Month, and National Volunteer Month, while celebrating cultural and religious holidays like Passover, Easter, Vaisakhi, and Southeast Asian New Year festivals such as Songkran.
We also highlight global awareness days including Earth Day and World Health Day.
